I have lived in the village since 1964 I worked in the former aluminium factory for forty years in various jobs and departments. I have been a councillor for many years and think the Conwy Valley is one of the nicest places to live in.
I have lived in the community for just on 4 years and I still remember my first week in the village - I received a welcome card from a neighbour across the road and I thought how nice to be welcomed into the village. I work outside the village for a company called Cais. I work with unemployed people supporting them back into work, helping them to create a CV, Cover Letters and helping them to complete application forms. It is a very worthwhile job especially when you can share the joy of seeing someone return to work after long term unemployment. I hope to continue to enjoy the village life and look forward to our next bingo night.
I moved to Dolgarrog nearly 7 years ago and love living here. My wife and I moved from Blackpool where I was a butcher manager for 40 years. I have now retired but do some part-time work for Marilyn and Emlyn at their shops at Tal y Bont and Trefriw, and I have been made very welcome by all the local people.
We just love living in Dolgarrog.
I have lived in Dolgarrog for a total of 25 years and have always loved living here. I went to university and achieved a first-class honours degree in Business and Management. I now work full time as an Office Manager and own two businesses of my own which I run in my spare time. My wife, Samantha, and I have recently bought our house in Dolgarrog and have a little girl called Robyn; who we’re very excited to bring up in the village. Throughout my life in Dolgarrog everyone has always been very kind to me and I am delighted to be part of the council so I can give something back.
